In this block, we will be exploring the concept of a home and the shelter we need to keep us safe and warm. It will lead us on a journey from one country to another, to hot climates and cold, to arid desert regions and the shade shelter that is needed to wet, tropical regions where shelter from the rain is of importance. We will look at houses that are on stumps, on wheels and even those built underground. We will look at basic building methods and trades and the tools that might help us. And of course, there will be lots of opportunities to build one's own house (on a miniature scale of course!)
