Ancient Civilizations: Mesopotamia & Egypt - Block 2 Day 3

Block Two – Mesopotamia and Egypt; similar to the previous block, pupils will start by familiarizing themselves with a selection of key geographical features from the regions they are studying, followed by Uruk - the first city in the ancient world, Ancient Mesopotamian contributions to the world and the Epic of Gilgamesh.

The study of ancient Egypt will start by looking at the extraordinary life-giving forces of the mighty Nile river, the myths and Gods of this enduring civilization - Ra, Isis and Osiris, the Pyramids and Sphinx and concluding with a look at the Pharaohs, priests and scribes, everyday life in ancient Egypt, temple construction, mummification and the Egyptian Book of the Dead.
